The optimal hand to cast Gishath, Sun’s Avatar from your Command Zone on turn one would contain the following:
Jeweled Lotus, Hunting Velociraptor, Concordant Crossroads, Elvish Spirit Guide, Simian Spirit Guide, Mana Crypt
Optimal Line of Play:
- Exile Elvish Spirit Guide from hand to net one green mana, and use that to cast Concordant Crossroads.
- Cast Mana Crypt and tap it, and exile Simian Spirit Guide to net 2 generic mana and a red mana – use this to cast Hunting Velociraptor.
- Proceed to combat, and attack with Hunting Velociraptor.
- You can now cast Gishath for the Prowl cost of 2 generic mana and a red mana; cast and sacrifice Jeweled Lotus for 3 red mana and cast Gishath on turn one.
- You have freedom in the last card that you need in hand, so if you are missing one of the above cards you can tutor for the correct card with Sylvan Tutor, Worldly Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, etc.
